We walk the plank
so you don’t have to.

Walk the Plank Home Inspections was built from real job sites, real construction experience, and a belief that home buyers deserve better than a basic checklist.

We are a husband+wife team serving Northern Colorado with a shared commitment to craftsmanship, accountability, and clear communication.

This company is not a side venture. It is the result of decades of education, field experience, and business leadership brought together with purpose.

Meet the Founder: Structural Engineer. Builder. Inspector.

Walk the Plank Home Inspections is led by Ira, a structural engineer who has spent decades constructing homes across Northern Colorado.

With a formal engineering degree and hands-on building experience, Ira understands homes at their core. Foundations, framing systems, roof structures, soil interaction, load paths, and the long term performance of materials are not abstract concepts. They are systems he has designed, built, and evaluated in the field.

He has worked directly with local soils, regional building practices, high wind exposure, and freeze/thaw conditions that impact homes along the Front Range. That experience shapes every inspection.

Most inspectors are trained to observe.
Ira was trained to understand why.

As a Native American professional in the skilled trades, he brings pride, discipline, and responsibility to every property he evaluates. Each inspection reflects respect for the homeowner, the buyer, and the structure itself.

The Operational Backbone:
Strategy, Precision, and Client Experience

Behind every strong field operation is strong business leadership.

With an MBA and multiple startup launches, Nicole built the operational foundation of Walk the Plank Home Inspections. From streamlined scheduling to prompt reporting and client communication, every detail of the client experience is intentional.

As a Colorado native, she understands the pace of Northern Colorado’s real estate market and the importance of reliable timelines. Buyers, sellers, and agents need clarity without friction.

Together, we combine technical depth with professional execution.

Why We Built This Company

We have seen what happens when inspections lack depth.
We have seen buyers receive vague reports that create confusion instead of clarity.
We have seen major structural concerns missed because they did not fit neatly into a template.

We built Walk the Plank Home Inspections to raise the standard.

Our inspections are structured, thorough, and grounded in real construction knowledge. We focus on safety, structural integrity, system performance, and long term durability. We explain what matters, what does not, and how findings may influence negotiation or repair planning.

We are not here to alarm.
We are not here to minimize.
We are here to inform.

Our Commitment to
Northern Colorado

Northern Colorado homes face specific challenges. Expansive soils. Movement and settlement. High winds. Rapid development. Mixed quality in new construction. Aging rural properties outside municipal oversight.

We know this region because we have built in it, lived in it, and invested in it.

From Fort Collins to Loveland, Windsor to surrounding rural communities, we serve buyers and homeowners who want real answers.

A Different Kind of Inspection Firm

Walk the Plank Home Inspections does not compete on price.

We compete on expertise.

When you hire us, you are not hiring a checklist technician.
You are hiring a structural mindset backed by construction experience and disciplined business operations.

You are hiring professionals who take the responsibility seriously.
